Mobile Pantry

Mobile Food Pantry – we need volunteers to help at our Mobile Food Pantry events which are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the rear parking lot at Christ the Redeemer Church from 12:30 pm – 3 pm. To sign up to help, click here. LINK has distributed more than 350,000 pounds of fresh vegetables, fruits and non-perishable food to more than 6400 families. The food is donated by the Capital Area Food Bank.

In partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB), LINK began a new monthly program in September 2012 called the Mobile Food Pantry. Large pallets of surplus food are brought by the CAFB to a LINK member church parking lot in Sterling, Virginia, and LINK volunteers bag the food into family-sized portions. The CAFB food is supplemented with food that LINK has in over-abundance in its own pantry. Families who need food are welcome to come to the Mobile Food Pantry to pick up these fresh vegetables, fruit, bread, and specialty items that vary depending on availability and seasons.

The program is offered -

- 2nd Tuesday of each month (light rain or shine)

- Christ the Redeemer Church, rear parking lot (46833 Harry Byrd Hwy., Sterling)

- 12:30 pm - 3 pm (or until the food runs out)

Volunteers are needed each month to help sort and distribute the food. If you would like to volunteer, you can email us at president@linkagainsthunger.org.
